The King of Bros has arrived in WWE NXT.
Matt Riddle made his debut at the live event in Sanford, Florida on Friday night.
Riddle walked out to the ring with slippers on but wrestled barefoot like he did when he wrestled on the independent scene. As confirmed by his wife Lisa on Instagram, Matt wore his wife’s shorts for his in-ring debut. Riddle defeated Fabian Aichner with a powerbomb followed by a knee strike to the face.
Riddle’s signing happened in late July but it wasn’t officially announced until NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4. The news of his signing was somewhat surprising because WWE had previously passed on him until they learned that New Japan Pro Wrestling was interested in him.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno is planned for the Takeover: WarGames show taking place on the night before Survivor Series.
