WATCH: The New Day on the Royal Rumble, the group’s gimmick, and the trombone

The New Day appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter Tuesday night (January 19th, 2016) to talk to Jonathan Coachman about WWE.

There was a highlight reel of the top five moments in Royal Rumble history. There was the best elimination (Jonathan Coachman), best performance (Roman Reigns in 2014), best return (John Cena in 2008), top save (Shawn Michaels in 1995), and the top finish in history (Steve Austin in 1998).

The New Day appeared on SportsCenter via satellite and talked about the rise of the group. Kofi Kingston said that the group is about them staying together and keeping things positive. Xavier Woods said that they should have been Coachman’s first guests.

Coachman brought up that Kingston was a big New England Patriots fan. Kingston said that the team is the greatest team in the NFL right now. Kingston switched to the Royal Rumble and said no one has more highlights in that match than him. Coachman asked Big E, who is the strongest WWE talent. Big E said that Mark Henry is the strongest man in WWE.

Coachman said that he played the trombone in high school. Woods said he played it as a kid then played a mini trombone then a medium size one then a big size trombone. He played the SportsCenter theme song. Woods said that Coachman has been blessed to be able to talk to them as they are greatness.

The New Day thanked Coachman for having them on the show, and this wrapped up the segment.
