Triple H spoke with Cathy Kelley following Saturday’s NXT Takeover: San Antonio special on his Facebook account.
When asked about Bobby Roode defeating Shinsuke Nakamura to win the NXT Championship, he said that he was told by the trainers that Nakamura suffered a dislocated kneecap and that in this business one man’s misfortune is another man’s gain, which led to Roode leaving the championship. He said that he hopes Nakamura is okay but that this is the business and that it’s not ballet. He said that this event proved that the tide could turn at any moment.
He praised the new NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain for beating Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. He said that Paul Ellering has a knack for turning guys into dominant forces. He brought up how Rezar and Akam are so young in this business and that they tore a path to the championships. He noted that DIY are one of the best tag teams he’s ever seen and that the Authors of Pain may be one of the most dominant teams in NXT history.
When asked about NXT Women’s Champion Asuka retaining the championship over Peyton Royce, Billie Kay and Nikki Cross at Takeover, he praised Asuka for her dominance but noted that Royce and Kay came to play and that they earned everyone’s respect. He thinks that Cross could be another Asuka in the making.
When asked about Seth Rollins interrupting the show to call him out, he said that there’s a big difference in the man wearing the suit working Takeover and the man standing here now. He said that Rollins would find out that there’s a difference in the creator and the destroyer. He noted that Rollins came to Takeover and challenged the creator but that the destroyer is not far behind. He said that they would find out who the man really is soon enough.
