The ratings for last week’s Wednesday Night War between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are in. They were delayed by a few days because of Thanksgiving.
For the second straight week, WWE NXT drew more total viewers than AEW Dynamite. NXT drew 810,000 viewers and Dynamite drew 657,000 viewers, which has to be considered a disappointment for them since it’s a big drop from the previous week. The good news for AEW is that they won in every demographic category except for viewers over 50 years old, which has been the case for them every week. The over 50 viewership is what helped NXT win these last couple of weeks.
Last week’s episode of NXT was the first show after Survivor Series and they were expecting a bump since NXT was put over so much at the pay-per-view and on the weekly Raw and SmackDown shows.
AEW Dynamite featured the return of Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho’s “Thank You” celebration and Jericho successfully defended the AEW World Championship against SCU member Scorpio Sky.
Here is the demographic breakdown for last Wednesday night’s AEW/NXT shows:
