What happened after SmackDown Live and 205 Live tapings?

The dark match after tonight’s (Tues. July 17, 2018) SmackDown Live and 205 Live tapings saw Daniel Bryan and The Miz go one-on-one.

Earlier in the night on SmackDown Live Bryan and Miz had a confrontation during Miz’s eulogy for Team Hell No. Bryan and Kane lost in their attempts to capture the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships from The Bludgeon Brothers at Extreme Rules over the weekend. Kane suffered a legitimate injury and missed tonight’s show.

Bryan attacked Miz, who was bad-mouthing he and Kane during the eulogy, but Miz managed to get away so Bryan took out his security instead. There have been a ton of rumors suggesting that Bryan and Miz could be working a match together at SummerSlam next month.

They have also been working against each other at live events recently. After tonight’s tapings Bryan defeated Miz in a singles match. The segment featured some comedic promos from both men, before and after the match. In the finish Bryan tricked Miz with a hug before turning on him.

It should be interesting to see how things develop between Miz and Bryan over the next several weeks as we head into SummerSlam. The pay-per-view (PPV) goes down from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 19, 2018.
