What happened to Bobby Roode and Mike Kanellis?, wrestling banned because of ECW, Paige update, Chris Jericho cruise
For those of you asking about Bobby Roode and Mike Kanellis, they are not in the doghouse with WWE. Both men were backstage at Smackdown Live this week. In fact, Roode defeated Mike Kanellis in a dark match before the live broadcast. On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that, despite what some fans have speculated online, Kanellis is not being punished because of his admission to being a recovering addict. Right now it just seems like they don’t have much for him to do so he is being kept off TV. Bobby Roode has been kept off TV because there’s no reason for him to be on Smackdown until they start his angle with Dolph Ziggler. The segments each week where Ziggler comes out and mocks wrestler entrances is meant as a lead up to a match with Roode. This week, he mocked Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and the DX entrance. Ziggler vs. Roode seems likely for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. They are also advertised for matches at live events in November.
Only ONE man can embody @TripleH, @ShawnMichaels, and then BOTH of them at the same time…and his name is @HEELZiggler! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/t9G3Pl88GP

It looks like ECW’s reputation is still being felt today. Tommy Dreamer said on Twitter that he tried to book an old ECW venue for House of Hardcore but he was told that wrestling was banned there since ECW.
I just called an OLD ECW venue
I asked if they were interested in a wrestling event
They said wrestling is banned since ECW@HeymanHustle— Tommy Dreamer (@THETOMMYDREAMER) September 19, 2017
Paul Heyman chimed in after Dreamer’s tweet:
. @THETOMMYDREAMER
1 – Don't call "old #ECW venues." Call "new #HOH venues!
2 – We were EXTREME. Outlaws. Disruptors. Supposed 2b banned! https://t.co/913CIsJR6k— Paul Heyman (@HeymanHustle) September 19, 2017
Paige commented on her second day back at the WWE Performance Center. She wrote:
