Where is Stephanie McMahon?, WWE couple secretly married, bad news on Kurt Angle, top star injured + more

Here is a rundown of some of the newsworthy items from the past week:

For those of you wondering why Stephanie McMahon is off of WWE TV, it is not necessarily for storyline reasons. McMahon, who has been off TV since taking a table bump at WrestleMania 33, is off TV because she planned to go on vacation.

Dave Meltzer reported this week that she had a planned family vacation to go to the Turks and Caicos Beaches Resort and Caicos Islands.

It's not clear yet when she will return to her role as Commissioner on Monday Night Raw but, based on some recent tweets, it looks like she is back home in Stamford, CT so her return could be sooner than we think.

Kurt Angle was on Chris Jericho's podcast last week and he revealed that he is dealing with nerve issues because of the neck injuries he's suffered. He talked about the broken neck during his time in the Olympics but that did not do so much damage. He said, "I broke it 4 times in 2 and a half years in WWE." He added, "I don't have the strength I had before I broke my neck in 2003." He says that he can only bench 185 pounds and that's not good for someone like him. Angle said that he had talks with UFC (years ago) but various factors made him decide not to go through with it and he was also in denial. The fact that he is not as strong in 2003 would probably mean that he would not have fared well in the Octagon so he made the right choice.

In regards to wrestling again, the door is open but he thinks that the company wants to make sure that he stays clean. He would also have to pass the standard medical testing. He feels that WWE wants him to do ambassador work and, perhaps, he'll get to wrestle at some point.

Angle also told a hilarious story about his first match in WWE and having to cut a promo in the middle of his match with Shawn Stasiak. He also discussed his departure from WWE in 2006. He talked about how Vince McMahon being a father figure to him and not talking to him for 11 years. He noted that he tried contacting McMahon years ago but McMahon was not interested in bringing him back because of Angle's addiction issues. McMahon finally gave in when he realized that Angle had been clean for a few years and that led to Triple H making the call to bring him back. He also talked about Chris Benoit, working with Hulk Hogan, Eddie Guerrero, his run with TNA and much more.

- There was a fan who created a petition to have Braun Strowman fired from WWE following his attack on Roman Reigns on Monday’s RAW. The fan feels that Strowman crossed the line and that the segment was not entertaining as it resulted in Reigns being hospitalized. Over 1,000 people have signed the petition, as of this writing. Keep in mind that Reigns is not injured and it was all an angle and I hope that the petition is a joke.

Strowman reacted to the petition that was filed on by the fan. He posted this:

- Tye Dillinger will face off with Eric Young in a steel cage match on next week’s episode of NXT on the WWE Network. With Dillinger being called up to the main roster to work on the SmackDown Live brand, this will be Dillinger’s last match in NXT.

Big E recently spoke with about how he has been ordained as a minister and is officiating weddings in Los Angeles. “I just got ordained online. It’s a surprisingly easy process. You just put some information in, and they send you a certificate. That’s that. It’s official. We made sure of that.”

When asked what led to him offering himself up as a wedding officiant. He said that he recently learned that he would have a lot of time off and that he doesn’t do well with a lot of idle time. He said that WrestleMania 33 kept him busy, but since then they had about six days off, which was fitting and then on TV. He said that he is ready to work and he was thinking about what he could do. He gave credit to Enzo Amore for coming up with the idea and as soon as he heard about it, he thought that it was ridiculous but phenomenal as well. He ran it by some of his friends and couldn’t think of a reason not to do it and got even more excited about the prospect.

When asked what makes him a good fit for this. He said that he is hoping that people are excited to have him. He said that he wants it to be something where everyone involved is pleased with the outcome. “I could give you something sappy about people who are madly in love and want to be together forever, but it’s cool to be part of someone’s day. I had no idea how much interest there would actually be; I just threw it out there. I told Emilio that I wouldn’t be surprised if there were no serious requests, but there are a few.” He said that they have to sit down and reply to people. He added that he needs to find a way to call, so people know it’s real.

He said that they have had talks, but he hasn’t spoken with WWE in a while and that it’s all about economics. He said that for the right price, he would love to come back but it’s got to be something that works for them and something that works for him. ”The last time I was there was the Hall of Fame for my dad. That was a lot of fun. They know me and my personality and know my comments were all in fun. I’m not the most political person out there, and I just stay true to me, and they know that about me.”

When asked about Primo and Epico working as the Shining Stars, he said that they’re extremely talented, but it’s all about finding the right avenue for them and that there are a lot of guys like that in WWE. He added that you need to find the right way to exploit the talent.

Congratulations to Renee Young and Dean Ambrose on their marriage. Rumors of their marriage began to spread on social media after fans noticed Ambrose wearing a ring on Raw this week. Young also had a ring this week on Smackdown Live. We were told that the couple were officially married back in October but the ceremony may have taken place over the last few days.

Kevin Owens pretty much spilled the beans on the marriage on this week's episode of Talking Smack on the WWE Network. He congratulated Young but did not say what he was congratulating her for before Shane McMahon interrupted to switch the subject. It seemed like Young did not want to talk about it (perhaps the news was being saved for Total Divas) but she confirmed the news on Wednesday morning:

A WWE source has confirmed to us that Finn Balor suffered a concussion on Raw last Monday during his match with Jinder Mahal. It appeared to have happened during the sequence seen below where he took a nasty looking elbow to the head.

As of this writing, there is no word on how long he will be out of action. He could be out for a couple of weeks or months. It all depends on when he can pass the ImPACT testing. We don't know if WWE will issue a statement but, in the past, they have shied away from acknowledging concussion injuries.
