As seen on yesterday’s episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE made a big change to one of the top matches on the upcoming WWE Evolution pay-per-view card. It was announced that Alexa Bliss vs. Trish Stratus’ singles match was turned into a tag team match. Given that Lita vs. Mickie James was already advertised for the event, WWE combined the two matches, now giving fans a Trish Stratus and Lita vs. Mickie James and Alexa Bliss bout.
Per a report from Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, the plan was always for the match to be a tag team bout. The only reason WWE announced Bliss vs. Stratus initially was to kick-start ticket sales since they didn’t want to announce Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella until they had the storyline set up.
Now that Rousey vs. Bella is official for the card, WWE pulled the trigger on making Bliss vs. Stratus a tag team match. WWE Evolution will go down on the WWE Network on October 28th from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
