WrestleMania 42 drew a packed crowd to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for both nights on April 18 and 19, but a running thread across social media all weekend was the cost of actually being there. Fans, wrestlers, and staff posted about bottled water prices in hotel rooms, resort fees, parking, stadium concessions, and the overall economics of the trip.
Below is a snapshot of what people were saying in real time.
Talent Complaints: No Water Backstage
Indie wrestler Steph De Lander, who worked multiple shows around WrestleMania weekend, posted about a recurring problem at independent shows.
I’ve been back on indy shows for 4 weeks & have already been on multiple shows with zero water backstage for talent… there should be water avail the entire show incl. for talent in the main event. Bc we don’t have @TheMattCardona making the indies a better place someone has to!

RozieTheRef, a referee who worked seven shows over the weekend, said she was hospitalized for dehydration after Sunday. She credited SPARK Joshi and Maple Leaf Pro for providing water and food, and asked promoters to do better.
after my 7th show on Sunday, I passed out and went to the hospital for dehydration. i had been guzzling out of my own 32oz water bottle with electrolyte packets in it all weekend and it still wasn’t enough.
the only promotions i worked that provided water/food was… https://t.co/6iyEkT945F

Hotel And Resort Fee Complaints
One of the more widely shared threads came from a fan who summed up the Vegas experience as a list of add-on charges.
Vegas killed itself by nickel and diming there customers by charging extra $50 for parking, $60 resort fees, $20 for a water bottle in your room and $500 for a bucket of beer.

Another fan’s complaint about $25 bottled water in hotel rooms circulated heavily.
Ever been to Vegas? Ever seen how miserable the stretch looks from the airport to the strip?
His own maps says it will take over an hour.
You roll into the Aria, covered in sweat, barely enough energy to check in, finally make it to your room and the bottled water is $25

A viral “Night 1 takeaway” post from a fan in attendance summed up the weekend for many.
@Thecoachrules MY TAKE ON NIGHT 1 OF #WRESTLEMANIA
1. OVER PRICED CONESSIONS
2. 10 BOTTLE OF WATER AT HOTELS
3 OVER PRICED TICKETS FOR CRAP
4. 4 HOURS OF ADVERTISEMENT AND COMMERICALS
5. WRESTLEMANIA NOT THE SAME ANYMORE @TKOGrp and sometimes @TripleH RUINED IT https://t.co/fYg2rxTDrs

Another fan broke down the broader economics of the trip against the cost of living.
We’re out here paying thousand dollar electric bills, gas is almost $4.00 a gallon, rents out of hand, groceries cost a fortune, and WWE expects fans to fly to Vegas, pay for a Hotel, spend thousands of dollars on WM tickets. We supposed to take out loans or something?

Some posts zoomed out to the Las Vegas tourism model itself, pointing to $400 rooms, $90 steaks, and $25 drinks as part of a longer trend.
Masto refuses to call out greedy Corporations like Caesars & MGM that caused the problem. You can only screw tourist for so long before they seek a better value. Parking/Resort fees,$400 rooms, $90 steaks, $25 drinks, $300 show tickets, pool charges & more have turned tourist off

Stadium Concessions: $43 Pizza, $143 Tomahawk Steak
The Allegiant Stadium menu became its own storyline during the weekend. One fan posted about a $43 slice of pizza.
The first night was bad. The was second night was okay. But as soon as TKO took over the prices got insane. 43 dollars for a slice of pizza in WrestleMania 42. Like WTF!!! Prices are up, the quality is going down. The Paul Levesque Era is struggling.#WrestleMania #TKO https://t.co/NUPkn7DX43

The menu’s $142.99 Tomahawk steak and $42.99 Wagyu burger drew the most attention, with some asking how wrestling stadium concessions got this far from the Frito pies of earlier eras.
Would love to hear @TheJimCornette 's thoughts on the food that was available at Allegiant Stadium for WrestleMania 42, a 142.99$ Tomahawk Steak, and a 42.99$ Wagyu Burger. We've come a long way from Frito Pie from the concession stand. @GreatBrianLast #CornyDriveThru pic.twitter.com/rQQFynIO3W

The Through Line
The common thread across every post was the same: fans who saved up for a WrestleMania trip felt like the entire weekend was priced against them at every turn, from the airport to the hotel lobby to the stadium. Bottled water became the symbol of it, showing up in complaints from hotel rooms ($25), from arenas, and from backstage at indie shows where talent were working multiple matches a day without it.
