WrestlePalooza Reportedly Still The Frontrunner Name For September WWE PLE Despite Internal Pushback

An official announcement for WWE’s next premium live event, scheduled for Saturday, September 20, is expected to be made at some point today. A new report from WrestleVotes indicates that “WrestlePalooza” remains the likely name for the show, despite some internal pushback.

According to the report, WWE is preparing to officially announce the details for their upcoming premium live event from Indianapolis, Indiana. The show is expected to be named WrestlePalooza. “Hearing the 9/20 Indianapolis PLE announcement is expected at some point today,” WrestleVotes reported.

The report adds an interesting new detail, noting that the “WrestlePalooza” name is not universally loved within the company. “WrestlePalooza remains the frontrunner, despite some negative pushback from higher-ups at RAW on Monday,” the report continued.

It will air head-to-head with AEW’s All Out pay-per-view, marking the first time the two companies will run major events on the same night. In the past, WWE would air main roster PLEs after or before AEW and air NXT head-to-head with AEW. This will be the first main roster WWE PLE going against AEW.

The working plan for the main events includes a match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar, as well as an Undisputed WWE Championship match between the champion, Cody Rhodes, and Drew McIntyre. Fans can follow WrestleVotes’s social media for more news.
