Last night on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Edge addressed the fans in Madison Square Garden and he talked about his 25 years with the company and how he started as Sable’s mystery partner in 1998. The Sable reference was a surprise because it’s been decades since her name has been referenced in a promo on a WWE show.
Sable hasn’t come back for any reunion shows and she’s one of the biggest names from the Attitude Era who hasn’t been brought back for a WWE Hall of Fame induction. Apparently, according to one former WWE star, Sable’s name is not allowed to be mentioned.
During a virtual autograph signing, Torrie Wilson said that prior to her Hall of Fame speech, she was told not to mention Sable. Wilson joked that you would have to go to Timbuktu in Minnesota to find her because she’s completely removed from pro wrestling. Wilson added, “You’re not even allowed to mention her name. I mentioned her name in my Hall of Fame speech and right before they told me, ‘Oh by the way, you’re not allowed to mention her name.'”
Wilson and Sable were in a storyline together on SmackDown in 2003. They also were on the cover of Playboy. Sable’s run with the company ended in 2004 and has lived a private life with her husband Brock Lesnar. Sable’s ex-husband Marc Mero recently spoke to WrestlingNews.co and he talked about Sable’s exit from WWE in 1999 and her return to the company in 2003. See the video below to hear Mero’s comments about Sable.
