As we noted on Tuesday, WWE issued a statement to us to shoot down reports that fans were allowed at Monday Night Raw. WWE’s claim is that “friends and family” were allowed into the Performance Center on Monday night.
I was told that the same “friends and family” were back at the PC today and there was a lot of unhappiness about this amongst the wrestlers.
One wrestler told me that there was already uneasiness about working the tapings with developmental talent acting as “fans” but at least those wrestlers were not traveling across the country and are largely staying together in the same area. That is not the case with the “friends and family” and the feeling is that there was no need for them to be there as the risk of spreading COVID-19 increases with more unfamiliar people in the building.
Needless to say, the last couple of days have been tense for some and the general feeling is to get though today. I was told that there was at least one wrestler who has chosen not to go to TV tapings this week.
To be clear, there are some people who are not bothered by any of what has happened this week or the last few months and are just happy to be at work.
