As noted earlier, there was fallout after Bret Hart mentioned Vince McMahon’s name during his speech at the WWE Hall Of Fame on Saturday night.
Sean Waltman said on his podcast that a writer was fired. The writer is Robert “RD” Evans.
The word making the rounds in WWE is that Evans actually quit just before McMahon had the chance to fire him.
Evans broke his silence on Twitter by simply stating, “I quit WWE.”

The firing/quitting happened immediately after Hart’s speech. DX mentioned McMahon several times during their speech but, as Waltman said on his podcast, Shawn Michaels asked for permission and McMahon gave them the green light.
Evans is not the only writer to step away from his position. Road Dogg has stepped down as the SmackDown Live co-head writer. Click here for more on that story.
