This comes after it was revealed during WWE’s first quarter 2020 earnings conference call last week that there wouldn't be another installment in the WWE 2K video game series, WWE 2K21, this year.

The 2019 version of the game faced negative reviews due to glitches and issues that the game had once it was released. It should be noted that WWE 2K20 was developed by Visual Concepts. This was a change as Yuke's had been developing games for the franchise over the past 18 years.

It was also noted in the statement that 2K Games sent out that “the next WWE 2K simulation game with a renewed focus on quality and fun. As part of that commitment, we are extending the production timeline and will not be releasing a WWE 2K simulation game in 2020 (T2 fiscal year 2021).”
