WWE abandons trademark attempt for Raw star

It looks like WWE has abandoned their trademark attempt on one of their Superstar’s names.

According to the United States Patent & Trademark Office, WWE’s trademark application on EC3’s name was abandoned on January 25. This was due to WWE not responding to a notice of initial refusal issued on July 24 of last year. WWE had six months to respond, and decided not to. The initial refusal was due to EC3 already having a registered trademark on the name on April 23 of last year.

Should WWE want to, they could revive their own application at a later date. We’ll keep you updated should any more information become available on the matter.
