It was noted this week that Brock Lesnar was pulled from WWE WrestleMania Backlash advertising but officially, he was never booked to be on the show.
Dave Meltzer wrote in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lesnar was only advertised for the show. In other words, they had no intention of using him on the show, and the false advertising was just to sell tickets.
Meltzer said that there were no plans discussed with him about doing a match on the show. It was noted how this is a different level of false advertising for WWE. In the past, there would be false ads for someone who is injured and they know won’t be able to appear but in this case, there were never any plans for Lesnar to be there.
Lesnar is now advertised for the Money In The Bank pay-per-view on July 2nd. That’s the final pay-per-view before SummerSlam.
