WWE started their deal with Saudi Arabia earlier this year. Everything kicked off with the Greatest Roya Rumble event, which was seemingly booked as a second WrestleMania. This past November, WWE then held a controversial Crown Jewel pay-per-view show, despite pleas from several United States Senators to pull out of the event due to the murder of a Saudi Journalist. Despite this, WWE will continue to fulfill their obligations to the country.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE already has May and November dates booked for their return to Saudi Arabia. Meltzer noted that WWE hasn’t announced the dates and will likely avoid doing so for as long as possible. In regards to Superstars’ bonus checks for the appearances, Meltzer described their reactions as “Some are happy. Some are not.”
