Following the news of Samoa Joe’s TNA departure and return to ROH for a few dates, there is demand for Samoa Joe’s services from several promotions. Joe has an offer, or at least confirmed opening interest and conversation, from Lucha Underground, AAA in Mexico, and a solid offer from New Japan Pro Wrestling. The New Japan offer may be a deal where they send him to work in NOAH to help boster the company or it may be to work in New Japan outright but there is an offer on the table.
Dave Meltzer reported on this morning’s Wrestling Observer radio that WWE has made an offer to Samoa Joe. This would explain why Joe has not signed anything long-term and as of now is booked for just a few dates with Ring of Honor. Joe hasn’t been the same since TNA made the push to sign major names former WWE and WCW talent in 2008 and 2009. He’s been, for the most part, pushed to the background but seems to be in the drivers seat now with his career.
Joe’s announced ROH dates are as follows:
3/27 in Redwood City (WrestleMania weekend)
3/7 in Baltimore (TV taping)
3/13 in Milwaukee
3/14 in Chicago
The deal between Joe and ROH was agreed to one day before they announced his signings and the creative direction for him hasn’t been announced.
Joe is booked for two more ROH dates but they have not been made public yet. The dates are:
4/4 in San Antonio
4/25 in Hopkins, Minnesota
