WWE announces top title match for Royal Rumble

The latest match added to the WWE Royal Rumble card has been officially announced.

As seen on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Pittsburgh, PA at the PPG Paints Arena on the USA Network, which was taped over the weekend, AJ Styles defeated Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Mustafa Ali, and Samoa Joe in a fatal 5-way match to become the new #1 contender to the WWE Title He’ll challenge Daniel Bryan for the strap at the Royal Rumble.

Styles and Bryan have wrestled each other twice in recent months. First, when Bryan beat Styles to win the title on an episode of SmackDown Live in November and their second match at the TLC PPV event where Bryan beat Styles to retain the title.

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field. Here is the updated Royal Rumble card:
