WWE has announced that the gauntlet match will kick off SmackDown Live on Tuesday night.
Kofi Kingston will need to beat Erick Rowan, Sheamus, Cesaro, Samoa Joe and Randy Orton if he wants to become the number 1 contender for Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
Kingston has been battling the odds in recent weeks. He was originally announced as Daniel Bryan’s opponent for Fastlane but was replace by Kevin Owens. Vince McMahon teased putting him in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane but instead decided to put him up against Sheamus and Cesaron in a handicap match. Tuesday night would appear to be his last opportunity.
The decision to put this match on first is interesting and it could mean that we’ll get 2 hours of wrestling if the match lasts for the entire broadcast.
However, unless WWE scraps the planned segment with The Miz, it doesn’t look like the match will last for the entire show. WWE is also hyping that The Miz will be on the show to respond to Shane McMahon.
