WWE held a six pack challenge match between Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Natalya and Naomi at tonight’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view event at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia, which aired on the WWE Network, to crown the first SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan kicked off the show to talk about tonight’s card and then they got things kicked off with the Smackdown Women’s Championship match.
The show got off to a great start because the women had their working shoes on tonight and they got plenty of time for their match. There was a super blockbuster powerbomb from Naomi onto Alexa Bliss at one point in the match. Basically, it’s Buff Bagwell’s blockbuster move with Alexa on Natalya’s back. The move looked spectacular and the crowd was into it. Naomi pinned Alexa so she is eliminated. Natalya got Naomi to submit after Nikki hit her with a vicious forearm so she is eliminated. Nikki hit Natalya with a modified Arentine backbreaker and pinned her so Natalya is gone. Carmella then immediately eliminated Nikki by pinfall. Carmella and Nikki shoved each other afterwards. Becky Lynch and Carmella were the final two women in the match. Becky got Carmella to tap to the disarmer. Becky Lynch is the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.
