The Miz defended the WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler at tonight’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view event at The Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia, which aired on the WWE Network.
The story of the match was the storyline injury of Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler was holding his knee after hitting the famouser on Miz. Towards the end of the match, Miz blocked Ziggler’s superkick and then locked him in the figure four and it looked like Ziggler would tap but Ziggler was able to reach the bottom rope. Ziggler did hit the move about 30 seconds later and almost got a 3-count but Miz got his foot on the rope. The match ended when Miz hit skull crushing finale after Maryse sprayed something in Ziggler’s eyes.
