The continuation of WWE canceling SmackDown live events on Monday’s is moving forward.
WWE was supposed to hold a show at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California on Monday, June 17 for the blue brand. That won’t be taking place as it’s been canceled.
The Raw episode on this date will mark the final red brand show before the WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view. This marks the fifth SmackDown live event in 6 weeks to be nixed as originally planned.
The company has canceled several recent SmackDown live events that were scheduled to take place on the same night each week as their flagship show, Raw. It all started when WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon introduced the Wild Card Rule.
Thus, several shows have been nixed. The reason for that is due to this rule as it allows SmackDown Superstars to appear on Raw.
