TJ Perkins and Brian Kendrick squared off over the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WWE Clash Of Champions. Although he was backstage at Raw and he appeared on the Raw pre-show last week, this is technically Perkins’ first appearance on WWE’s main roster. He did a match for the WWE ECW brand a few years ago but he was not under contract. Perkins was given new music that sounded like an 8-bit video game from the 80’s.
Their timing was off on a couple of spots but they had a good match and the crowd was into it. Kendrick had the Captain’s hook submission on twice but Perkins countered and he won the match with his kneebar submission finisher. Perkins wins via submission. Kendrick and Perkins hugged after the match but it was a serve because Kendrick nailed Perkins with a headbutt. Looks like a future rematch is coming for these two.
