WWE confirms Edge underwent surgery for his triceps after getting injured at Backlash

WWE has confirmed that Edge did indeed suffer a torn triceps during his match with Randy Orton at WWE Backlash. The injury took place a little over a week ago when the match was taped at the Performance Center.

WWE also announced that he underwent successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home. There is no word on how long he will be out of action but typically, a triceps injury could mean between 4-8 months of recovery so he will miss SummerSlam and he could be out until early 2021.

Randy Orton will appear tonight on Monday Night Raw to discuss his match with Edge from last night. As I noted last night, Edge vs. Orton was planned for SummerSlam and that was going to be their blowoff match. Obviously, those plans are now on hold and WWE will need to shift to a new storyline for Orton.
