WWE confirms how the winner of Eye for an Eye match at Extreme Rules will be determined

Once it was reported that WWE came up with an interesting stipulation for one match at Extreme Rules, some fans wondered how it would exactly work.

During Monday’s episode of Raw, WWE did, in fact, announce that Rey Mysterio would battle Seth Rollins in an Eye for an Eye match at this upcoming pay-per-view event.

WWE’s website has released an article to promote the match and in the listing, it was confirmed that the only way there can be a winner is if the wrestler pulls out an eye of his opponent.

The listing reads like, “The Horror Show at Extreme Rules added a new level of terror as Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins will meet in an Eye for an Eye Match. Mysterio teamed with Kevin Owens to defeat Rollins & Murphy for the right to choose the gory stipulation where a winner can only determined by extracting the opponent’s eye.”

It’s been reported that the reason that WWE originally did an angle where Rollins sent Mysterio eye first into the corner of a steel step was to write him off television in case he didn’t sign a new deal.

Despite him not signing a new deal with WWE, the company is still using Mysterio on television. For the latest on Mysterio’s status, click here.

The WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, July 19, 2020 in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center.
