WWE has let fans know what they can expect to see serve as the opening match on next Tuesday’s episode of NXT.
On Thursday morning, the company confirmed the previously announced triple threat number one contender’s match featuring Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, and Johnny Gargano will open the show.
It’s an interesting move as this is the biggest match to be announced thus far. It’s possible there is a no contest finish that leads to it being restarted later in the show that way it takes place in the main event and potentially increases viewership.
The winner will challenge Karrion Kross for NXT Championship at TakeOver: In Your House on Sunday, June 13th. Kross defeated Finn Balor at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver last month to win the NXT Championship then won again over Balor on Tuesday’s episode.
NXT Tag Team Champions MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) defending against Legado del Fantasma (Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde) has also been booked for this episode of NXT.
