WWE confirms the Draft is returning

It’s official…there will be another draft to shake up the rosters again.

News on the draft has been out for a couple of weeks via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter but WWE did not confirm the news until today.

During FOX’s NFL coverage, it was announced that there would be a draft on the October 11th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The draft will conclude on the October 14th episode of Monday Night Raw on USA.

As previously noted, the plan is to do a hard split of the rosters so they will eliminate the “Wild Card Rule” and the announcers will be exclusive to their respective brands. In other words, Corey Graves will only work on one show.

The plan is to get across to fans that SmackDown is no longer the “B” show so you can expect that roster to be stacked. The Draft will be more sports-like because of FOX’s influence.

There are already photos out that may be an indication on some top names that are moving from Raw to SmackDown. Click here if you don’t mind the spoiler news.

Also, we have news on the announce team shake-up on who is leaving Raw. Click here for more on that story.
