Following last Sunday’s episode of “Undertaker: Last Ride,” fans were wondering if The Undertaker has indeed retired or if left the door open for a return.
Taker gave the “never say never” line while also indicating that he was done as an in-ring performer as he has more to give to the business behind the scenes. His wording left many fans thinking that he might step in the ring at least one more time.
During tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, the announcers said that his encounter with AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 was his last match. The Boneyard Match aired in its entirety on tonight’s episode of SmackDown during a special tribute episode. As part of the tribute, they also aired interviews from several current top stars and Hall Of Famers including Roman Reigns, John Cena and Shawn Michaels.
In wrestling, anything is possible and Taker has privately retired several times over the years but, as of now, WWE says he is done as an active wrestler.
