UPDATE: WWE has made a change to the MSG main event. Click here for more.
ORIGINAL: The Undertaker is taking it as easy as he can at this stage in his legendary career. To be honest, he doesn’t really need to show up at all anymore because he’s given enough to the business already. But he continues on and it looks like his matches in New Orleans and Jeddah won’t be the only times the WWE Universe will get to see Taker work in 2018.
Madison Square Garden’s website is listing The Undertaker for the July 7th show saying, “for the first time in 8 years, The Undertaker returns live in action to MSG!” The Dead Man’s opponent wasn’t revealed but whoever faces him will certainly have a lot to handle.
The next Madison Square Garden show is set to be a stacked one as well with Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Title listed on the show meaning that rivalry likely won’t be over at Money In The Bank.
Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor vs Elias is also set up for the WWE Intercontinental Title so this could be a sign Elias is going to be sticking around the IC Title picture for a bit.
The Undertaker is an absolute legend in pro wrestling and this appearance at Madison Square Garden is just the capper to what was likely going to be an amazing show even without his involvement. But his presence will surely sell a bunch of tickets. It’s just too bad WWE Network doesn’t air MSG house shows so we could all enjoy his slow walk to the ring inside The World’s Most Famous Arena.
WWE has posted a clip of Kane vs. Taker from WrestleMania 20 at MSG as part of the hype leading up to Taker’s return to The Garden:
