Fans are still waiting to see where WWE will hold this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
It was reported on Monday the date of the show will be on August 22nd. However, the only thing regarding the location that has been reported is the company having a few different locations in mind for it.
Either way, the goal is to have fans in attendance at the show. The belief for the past few months has been WWE will resume touring after SummerSlam with fans attending TV and PPV events going forward.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is thinking about holding the show at Madison Square Garden, which has been considered as the home of WWE for decades.
In recent years, WWE has been holding shows in Brooklyn when in the region as it’s cheaper to host shows at the Barclays Center instead of MSG.
“I’ve heard Madison Square Garden. Oh, I shouldn’t have said that…It may not be, but it’s under consideration. It’s not like it’s been announced or anything.”
