WWE Considering Increasing NXT Road Schedule For TV In 2026

WWE NXT could be stepping up its travel schedule significantly in the new year. According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is considering increasing the number of NXT television episodes filmed on the road in 2026.

More Reps On The Road

The report states that the primary motivation behind this potential change is to provide developmental talent with more experience performing in different environments. By taking the show on the road more frequently, WWE hopes to give its rising stars valuable “reps” in front of varied audiences, rather than the consistent crowd at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

CW Network Support

The CW Network, which became the exclusive broadcast home of NXT in late 2024, is reportedly “fully on board” with the plan. The network believes that touring the show would be beneficial for the broadcast product.

Future Of The Performance Center

Despite the potential increase in road shows, there are no current plans to completely abandon the WWE Performance Center as a filming location. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed that the Performance Center will likely remain the primary home base for the brand, even if touring dates increase.

NXT is currently building toward its first major television special of 2026, New Year’s Evil, which will air live on Tuesday, January 6. The show will feature Oba Femi defending the NXT Championship against TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater, as well as Jacy Jayne defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Kendal Grey.
