Ronda Rousey is on her way to WWE by the looks of things. Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the new reports from USA Today saying she is close to signing a deal with WWE shouldn’t have come as a big surprise because she’s been training with Brian Kendrick and showing up at the WWE Performance Center since December. She appeared outside the Mae Young Classic in June to take part in a little angle too.
But to make matters even more interesting it looks like WWE could be pondering about an unexpected opponent for Rousey. Before they had thought about Charlotte Flair or possibly Stephanie McMahon as opponents for Rousey, and while that still might happen The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted something interesting.
Asuka has recently changed her finishing hold from a chicken wing to an armbar on television. To some, this might only look like a small alteration, but since Rousey is known as the “armbar master,” Meltzer noted it could turn into something more.
Seriously though, can you think of someone better to finally end Asuka’s undefeated streak more than Ronda Rousey? The real question is if Rowdy Ronda is ready for Asuka.
