Malakai Black, Miro, and Ricky Starks are gone from AEW. All three stars haven’t been used in recent memory and are looking for the exit door. Starks has already shown up in WWE NXT, while Black and Miro are expected to return to WWE.
Miro had been making seven figures in AEW after signing a deal in September 2020 that was set to expire in spring 2022. He would later sign a four-year extension.
As previously reported by Wade Keller of the PWTorch, some influential people in WWE are big fans of Black and see him as a possible top singles act in the company. Those close to him said that Black felt he was more palatable with Paul Levesque in charge of creative than Vince McMahon and that he never developed a rapport with Khan.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Miro and Black are believed to be back in WWE soon.
Meltzer wrote, “The belief is that Black and Miro will also be in WWE very soon. It wouldn’t surprise me to see CJ Perry back involved with him but that’s less of a definite. Those in WWE had said creative had been talking about Black and Miro.”
