NXT Champion Ricky Saints vs. Oba Femi took place at the WWE Deadline Premium Live Event from San Antonio, Texas. This was the opening match with the winner earning the right to face Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th.
Oba got the hot start before Starks started targeting the left arm. Oba took control and started the beatdown of Starks. Starks fought back and hit a hurricanrona off the top rope then hit a spear for 2. Starks connected with a stunner for 2. Starks tossed him to the floor and Oba just beat the count at 9 and ate a fameasser when he came back into the ring. Oba with a series of clotheslines then clubbing shots. Starks outsmarted him and rolled him up for 2. Oba with a powerslam for 2. They traded counters before Oba planted him with a powerbomb for 2. Moments later, Oba hit another powerbomb for the win.
Winner: Oba Femi – NEW Champion
