WWE Did Not Have ‘Real Considerations’ To Book Randy Orton Against Nick Aldis At WrestleMania

On the latest WrestleVotes Radio episode, clarification was provided regarding any speculation that WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis might have faced Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year.

WrestleVotes reported that WWE had “no real considerations” to book Aldis in a match against Orton at the event. They stated the memorable segment where Aldis took an RKO from Orton on SmackDown was done specifically “To kill a week of TV,” adding that TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was already “locked down” as Orton’s actual opponent for WrestleMania 41 at that point.

“For those that are into this type of stuff, we are told. WWE had no real consideration to have Nick Aldis as Randy Orton’s WrestleMania opponent. The segment that was done where all Nick took an RKO was done, quote, ‘To kill a week of TV’ with Joe Hendry already locked down at that point. We are told, however, Nick Aldis is open to competing down the road, if the story is right and appropriate for him to come back and compete.”
