The return of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event took place with five matches, including a main event, where Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes went over Kevin Owens, this past weekend.
The show drew 1.59 million viewers on NBC and a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demo. It should be noted the show also aired on Peacock. Wrestlenomics reported the news.
Saturday’s ratings are in line with what WWE is doing with Raw and SmackDown on the USA Network, which is in far fewer homes than NBC. The previous special was back in 2008, which had 2.35 million viewers.
Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated reports that the viewership would have been more than 2.3 million combined between NBC and Peacock, with the streamer adding an additional 700,000 viewers.
I tweeted yesterday that NBC's Saturday Night's Main Event beat ABC's Rockets-Thunder game in the ratings Saturday.
