Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn headlined this year’s WWE Elimination Chamber PLE.
After a lot of standing around and embracing the moment, things started off slow as Reigns started mind games as he hit minor strikes. Zayn tossed him to the floor and hit an outside dive.
As Zayn went for a dive off the middle rope, Reigns cut him off with an uppercut. As Reigns was beating him down, he was talking trash about Zayn to Zayn’s wife. Zayn came alive with a series of clotheslines. Zayn did some near falls including avoiding a spear and rolling him up. Zayn with the superman punch then a big boot for two. Reigns cut off the rally with an uppercut.
Reigns went through the barricade after Zayn avoided the spear. Back in the ring, Zayn hit the blue thunder bomb for 2. After the referee was accidentally taken out, Jimmy Uso ran out and hit a series of superkicks to Zayn before another the referee came out, but Zayn kicked out at two. Zayn knocked Jimmy off the apron and Reigns hit a spear for 2. Reigns took out the second referee with a superman punch then they did double superman punches.
Jey Uso showed up as Reigns was going to hit Zayn with a chair. Reigns wanted Jey to hit Zayn with a chair and Reigns pie faced him before Zayn speared Jey. Reigns hit Zayn with a chair several times. Reigns with a spear to Zayn and that was it. Post-match, Zayn was beaten down until Kevin Owens came out to make the save. Zayn laid out Reigns with the big boot in the corner to close out the show.
