WWE has been doing mass firings with its talent and staff over the past few months. However, the company has decided to bring back Scott Smoot to work as the Vice President of Live Event Production.
He announced the news today on his LinkedIn page by writing the following:
“Exciting and completely grateful to finally officially announce to all my return to WWE today.”
The company released him last September along with several other people due to budget cuts. He started working for the company in January 2014. Smoot also indicated that he is working remotely and full-time for the company.
He had been updating his LinkedIn page during his hiatus from WWE, which is where it states he had been doing freelance work until February of this year. He worked full-time as the Senior Director of Creative & Match Presentation for the FC Cincinnati soccer team.
It’s been previously reported the company is bringing back and/or hiring employees ahead of their planned return to touring next month.
