Yesterday, WWE sent out an email to their mailing list promoting their referral program for the WWE Network. They also promoted it on Monday Night Raw. The company is feeling the pressure to get their numbers up for the network or risk getting heat from their stockholders. They have 7 weeks to get their numbers up. Those numbers will be released in 11 weeks so they are going extra hard on their TV shows promoting the network. It became more obvious last night when they decided to keep John Cena off Raw and save him for tonight’s WWE Main Event on the network.
Also, WWE hired a survey company to get some numbers on how many people watch WWE around the world. WWE announced that 60 million homes in the United States has a WWE fan and 120 million homes worldwide has a WWE fan. Those numbers are ridiculous and WWE has to know that but that’s what they announced publicly so if they announce a number, for example, $700,000 subscribers at their next conference call it would look really bad for WWE.
