WWE files countersuit in patent infringement lawsuit over Network technology

WWE received a lawsuit back in May for patent infringement.

The lawsuit was filed by SITO Mobile as they outlined 12 patents they own and alleged WWE is infringing with its streaming service, WWE Network. They asked the court to award damages determined by a jury trial. In the past, SITO Mobile previously filed patent lawsuits against Hulu and Flo Sports.

WWE filed a 32-page response and countersuit on October 5th, which was obtained by Pwinsider.com. WWE denies all of the allegations against them.

WWE also denied that SITO is entitled to costs of this action, including all disbursements, and attorneys’ fees. WWE requested the court to enter a judgment declaring that they didn’t directly “infringed, contributed to the infringement of any of the patents-in-suit.“

The company claims they’ve been damaged by SITO filing the lawsuit and wants SITO to pay their legal fees.
