WWE has made an interesting move in the trademark world, filing for the names of a current NXT star and two former stars.
WWE Files For ‘Shawn Spears’ And ‘Scott Dawson’ Trademarks
On August 15, 2025, WWE filed to trademark “Shawn Spears,” which is the current ring name and real name of the star formerly known as Tye Dillinger in WWE. On the same day, they also filed for “Scott Dawson,” the former WWE ring name of Dax Harwood, one-half of the AEW tag team FTR.
A Renewal For A Duke Hudson Trademark
The company also filed a trademark for “Duke Hudson,” which is likely a standard renewal for the active NXT superstar. All three filings were for “entertainment services,” covering a wide range of wrestling-related performances and media.
Spears is a current member of the NXT roster. The full trademark filings can be found at the United States Patent and Trademark Office website.
