WWE files trademark for current PPV event

WWE filed for the trademark rights to  the term “Extreme Rules.”

The company did so on August 23rd with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). It’s listed for merchandising. Here is the description:

“WWE EXTREME RULES™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, lingerie, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; footwear, namely, shoes, sneakers, slippers, flip flops, boots; headwear, namely, hats, caps; wrist bands; bandanas; championship trophy belts.”

WWE holds the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena, which will air on Peacock. The company has yet to officially announce any matches, but there is a big title bout being locally advertised.
