WWE Files Trademark For New Tag Team Name

WWE has filed for a new trademark after revealing the new name of a tag team on SmackDown.

The company filed for “New Catch Republic” on February 18 under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Here is the description for the trademark:

Mark For: NEW CATCH REPUBLIC™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.

Tag team

This is the new tag team name of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, who have been teaming together in recent weeks after Bate served as Dunne’s surprise tag team partner.

On last week’s SmackDown, in a backstage interview, they noted they needed a new start and a new name. The team recently earned a Tag Team Championship match against Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest at Elimination Chamber this Saturday.
