WWE files trademark for Pete Dunne’s new ring name

WWE has locked down another ring name trademark as the company filed for “Butch” on March 10th. This is the new ring name of Pete Dunne.

The filing is under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Here is the description:

“Mark For: BUTCH™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

Dunne is now part of the main roster on WWE SmackDown under this name. Last week on the show, he was introduced in a backstage segment by Sheamus. He is in the group with Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

He also joined his stablemates at ringside for their match against Big E and Kofi Kingston where Big E suffered a broken neck. Butch played a role in the finish then beat down Kofi after the match.
