WWE Files Trademark For “Los Americanos”

WWE has officially filed a trademark for “Los Americanos,” the name of the new masked faction that has been appearing on Monday Night Raw in recent weeks. The trademark was filed on September 22 for a wide range of entertainment services, confirming the name for the trio of El Grande Americano (portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser) and his two mystery accomplices – Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate. The group’s official name and matching graphics were revealed in a video package that aired on this week’s episode of Raw.

The “Los Americanos” faction is the latest evolution of the El Grande Americano character, a gimmick that has become a fan-favorite. The character, luchador from the “Gulf of America,” was originally portrayed by Chad Gable before he suffered a shoulder injury. Since then, Ludwig Kaiser has taken over the role, and in recent weeks, he has been joined by two smaller masked partners.

After weeks of speculation, it was confirmed that the accomplices are the former NXT UK Champions Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, who were last seen on WWE television as the tag team “New Catch Republic” back in May. The new faction has been involved in a storyline with AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, and a match between the two teams has been set for next week’s episode of Raw.

The description reads: “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

While Pete Dunne has recently been working as a backstage producer for AAA, this new on-screen role will see him and Bate re-introduced to the main roster in a new way.
