WWE has filed trademark applications for three new names, all submitted to the USPTO on March 18. The filings cover the names Max Abrams, Veronica Haven, and Anya Rune — all under the standard entertainment services category used for professional wrestling talent names. The identities of those named have not yet been publicly disclosed.
The applications each cover the same broad description of goods and services, encompassing live wrestling exhibitions, broadcast media performances, online content, fan club services, and sports entertainment information — language consistent with how WWE typically files trademarks for talent names.
As is common with WWE trademark filings, the names could be assigned to a range of talent. Recent tryout signees, including former Rayne Leverkusen, are among the possible candidates. Filming is also underway for the third season of WWE LFG, which pairs Legends with up-and-coming talent — all past-season competitors are already under contract and could be in line for a rebrand. Mid-run name changes are also not unprecedented, as seen with Marcel Barthel becoming Ludwig Kaiser upon his SmackDown debut in 2022.
It’s worth noting that trademark filings don’t always result in the name being used on television. Plans can change. Whether Max Abrams, Veronica Haven, or Anya Rune ever appear on WWE programming remains to be seen.
