WWE Files Trademarks For “Rayo Americano” And “Bravo Americano”

WWE has officially filed trademarks for the individual ring names of the new members of the “Los Americanos” faction, which were revealed on this past Monday’s episode of Raw. On the same day that the duo made their in-ring debut, the company applied to trademark the names “Rayo Americano” and “Bravo Americano” for entertainment and wrestling-related services. The new trademarks, along with the previously filed trademark for the group’s name, “Los Americanos,” solidify the identity of the new masked trio on the Raw brand.

The trademark filing for both “Rayo Americano” and “Bravo Americano” covers a wide range of services, including: “Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”.

The “Los Americanos” faction consists of the leader, El Grande Americano, who is currently being played by Ludwig Kaiser, and his two smaller partners, Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano, who are believed to be portrayed by former NXT UK Champions Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate. The trio made their official in-ring debut as a team on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, where the team of AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defeated them. The match was the first time Dunne and Bate had competed on WWE television since their last match as the tag team “New Catch Republic” back in May.

The formation of Los Americanos is the latest chapter in the evolution of the El Grande Americano character. The gimmick was originally created for Chad Gable as a way to mock and wage war on lucha libre. After Gable was sidelined with a shoulder injury, Ludwig Kaiser took over the masked persona and has since expanded it into a full-fledged faction with the addition of Rayo and Bravo.
