WWE Friday Night SmackDown 7/2/21 overnight ratings drop to new all-time record low

The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode from Tampa, Florida at Yuengling Center.

The episode drew an average of 1.741 million viewers, which is down from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 1.859 million viewers on FOX, according to Spoiler TV.

The first hour did 1.699 million viewers while the second hour did 1.782 million viewers. To compare, last week’s first hour had 1.913 million viewers and the second hour had 1.805 million viewers.

It also pulled in an average of 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That is down from the 0.50 rating in the 18-49 demographic the show did last week.

The show went up against the third game of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals on NBC that averaged nearly 2 million viewers. This was the lowest-rated episode of SmackDown on FOX in the overnight ratings as the previous low came back on July 3, 2020 with 1.777 million viewers. This doesn’t include the final ratings nor the ratings the SmackDown shows have done on FS1.

The episode featured Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match to determine the next competitor in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, a promo segment with Edge, Liv Morgan vs. Zelina Vega, Big E & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin, Otis vs. Angelo Dawkins, and more.
