WWE Friday Night SmackDown overnight ratings dip for post-Royal Rumble show

The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode from St. Petersburg, Florida at Tropicana Field.

The episode drew an average of 2.126 million viewers, which is down from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 2.228 million viewers on FOX.

The first hour saw it pull in 2.144 million viewers while hour two did 2.108 million viewers. The show did 2.294 million viewers in hour one while hour two did 2.161 million viewers a week ago.

It also pulled in an average of 0.60 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which was #2 for the night. That is the same as the 0.60 rating in the 18-49 demographic the show did last week.

This was the post edition of SmackDown for Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. Historically, SmackDown, after a PPV show, does get an increase due to intrigue among fans.

SmackDown was in the middle of the pack for the night among the networks in viewership. It was behind 20/20, Magnum P.I., Blue Bloods, Shark Tank, Dateline NBC, and other series among the top shows on network television.

It should be noted that this is the overnight number and the actual rating won’t be released until next week.
